Grape harvest in Agro Service Center


Tsolikouri, Klarjula, Tsitska and Krakhuna have been harvested in Agro Service Center today by the Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara, UNDP project representatives, Agro Service Center specialists, as well as by the Students and pupils from Batumi. 1,5 tons of grape have been harvested in two-year-old nursery, where 32 breeds of grapes are cultivated. Participants of Grape Harvest visited Vine House of Agro Service Center as well, which will be opened in autumn of 2015. 

Nut and Vine saplings to be cultivated in Agro Service Center


5 acre land territory has been prepared for the cultivation of nut and vine saplings in Agro Service Center nursery, kobuleti. Nut perspective breeds will be cultivated in the Nursery at the end of autumn, 2015; however vine saplings will be planted next year. At the present, preoperational works on the territory have been finished.

Sweet Pepper Greenhouse opens in Agro Service Center


Sweet Pepper Greenhouse, where 7 different Poland breeds of pepper are cultivated opened in Agro Service Center recently. Red and yellow sweet pepper breeds are placed in Demonstrative greenhouse for the introduction to the farmers. Those breeds are known for its profitability and productivity. Grape harvest to begin in Agro Service Center


Grape harvest begins in Agro Service Center Vine and Fruit Nursery, where 32 different breeds of vine are cultivated. Wine grapes such as Tsolikauri, Tsitska, Ojaleshi and Klarjuli are ready to be harvested. Those grape breeds along with the others have been cultivated in the nursery in 2013. During the two year period, grapes which are more adaptable and profitable are examined by the specialists and produced in order to be sold among the farmers.

British Ambassador to Georgia Alexandra Hall Hall got acquainted with the implemented and ongoing projects of Agro Service Center and visited Vine and Fruit Nursery in Kobuleti, where 33 vine breeds are cultivated. Monitoring of Cow Artificial Insemination Service results


Deputy Director of Agro Service Center Levan Bolkvadze observed the results of Cow Artificial Insemination Service and visited Family of Givi Danelia in Kobuleti.  Danelia got two cows from Artificial Insemination Service, one of which already has the sign of breed improvement. It gives 13-15 liter of milk instead of 8-10 liter like the mother. Artificial Insemination Service opened in Agro Service Center in 2012 within the frame of UNDP program and 1600 improved breed of calves have been born during this period in Ajara region.

Apple harvested in Fruit Nursery dried in Agro Service Center


Fruit drying continues in Agro Service Center mini enterprise. At the present, two breeds of apple harvested in Vine and Fruit Nursery of Agro Service Center have been dried in Fruit Drying Mini Enterprise; however realization of dried apple is not planned yet. The mini enterprise was purchased by the organization within the frame of UNDP program. It is the Solar system machine, which dries the fruit during the 3-4 days. Jewish Ichthyologists from Israeli held training for the cooperatives and farmers in Agro Service Center today. Fish diseases and their treatment, water filtration and trout farming were the main subjects of discussion during the two-hour training. Agro Service Center agricultural products have been exhibited at Europe square during 5-6 September within the frame of festival “Gandagana”.  Grape, apple, strawberry and dried plum, as well as agricultural machinery such as Bird Scarer, Soil Laboratory, Cattle Feed Grinding Machinery and Honey Comb Percolator has been exhibited at the festival, which was organized by the Department of Tourism of Ajara within the frame of National Holiday “Batumoba”.

The farmers from Shukhevi municipality dried 200 kg plums in Agro Service Center Fruit Drying Mini-Enterprise. “This is the first try for farmers to get dried plums and make there realization instead of selling the fresh fruit itself.
