Within the memorandum between N(N)JP Agroservice Centre and  Shota Rustaveli State University, scientists  continue researches at Agro Service Center nurseries. They met the Director of Agro Service Center Gocha Beridze and discussed ongoing process and the future work plan of research. Scientific researches in Agro Service Center nurseries aim identification of most suitable and adaptable varieties of plants for the region.

The head of Scientific - Research Center fruit-growering and winegrowing department of the Ministry of Agriculture, professor Zviad Boboqashvili visited Gvara - Khutsubani fruit and vine nursery of AgroService Cente and  acquented ongoing work process there. Boboqashvili held the theoretical and practical training about the fruit formation and fruit pruning in gardens, for Agronomists and farmers.  The training attended minister of agriculture of Ajara, Lasha Komakhidze and Deputy Minister Avtandil Meskhidze.

Spanish La encina nursery company representatives visited N(N)JP Agroservice Center vine and fruit tree nursery. Minister of agriculture of Ajara region, Lasha Komakhidze and N(N)JP director Gocha Beridze hosted  the guest.  The party’s discussed the fruit growing and plant growing scientific research, as well the joint projects and cooperation. During a visit, the representative of the Spanish nursery company saw Gvara vine and fruit nursery experimental and demonstration base and got acquainted with the ongoing research.

Raspberry Greenhouse, where 3 different breeds of raspberries are cultivated opened in Agro Service Center recently. The raspberry breeds are placed in growbags and pots in demonstrative greenhouse for the introduction to the farmers. Those breeds are known for its profitability and productivity. One sapling gives 3-5kg raspberry harvest a year. According to the research done by the Agro Service Center raspberry is one of the most demanded agricultural product on the market. Citrus Export 2016" hosted Ajara International Forum, some countries representatives introduced with Georgian citrus data. By the initiative of Ministery of Agriculture of Ajara the forum will be held annualy. Lasha Kobakhidze presented a presentation about the citrus export 2016. The forum attended Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of Ajara A.R Government, Levan Davitashvili. Minister of Agriculture, also, all the governmental and non-governmental organizations that may be related to citrus export promotion in Georgia.

Garlic export

Within the cooperation of N(N)JP Agroservice centre and ENPARD AJARA project, this year, first time of region history, the garlic was exported, so, the full cycle is tied. The Ukrainian high productive garlic was planted and examined  in mountainous Ajara. The garlic export is important as it opens new perspectives for farmers, as an alternative potato culture. Exporting company is “world technics." By 2017 Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara is planning to cultivate the garlic on 23 hectares.

Festival Gandagana

Today, within the festival Gandagana, organized by Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara, wine degustation, masterclasses in chacha distillation and baking Georgian Bread “shoti” was held in Kobuleti wine house. Within the visit guest saw N(N)JP Agroservice centre vine and fruit tree nurseries and archeological museum. The local folk group performed the Georgian songs.

Establishment of Agro market

Today, the minister of Agriculture of Ajara region, Lasha Kobakhidze, held a meeting with members of agricultural organizations in N(N)JP agroservice center. On the meeting was discussed to establish an agro market on 1200m2 territory of agroservice centre. On this market would be presented locally produced goods, as well imported agricultural machinery and technology. The farmers will be able to receive all the services in one place.
