The employees of Batumi Informational-Consultative Service Center help the farmer

The employees of Batumi Informational-Consultative Service Center continue meetings with the farmers in order to provide them with information and to support development of agriculture in the region. They met with the owner of former citrus farm in Akhalsheni in order to examine the pools where farmer planned to build a trout farm.

After examining the pool and main water source specialists have ascertained that water temperature features doesn’t comply the optimal requirements of trout breeding.  Beside this, farmer had no working experience, knowledge or financial resources to build the trout farm. The business plan by which farmer planned to withdraw the loan didn’t match the requirements of ‘Preferential Agro Credit” program as well.

After looking around the territory consultants of Agro Service Center have noticed that pools which has been covered by the natural silt was useful for building the greenhouse and offered farmer to use the territory for construction of greenhouse. Farmer has been contacted with the farmers’ association “Eco Ferma” by the specialists, whose owner expressed willingness to help farmer arrange the vegetable, in particular lettuce leaves greenhouse.

According to the deputy director of Agro Service Center Eduard Phutkaradze, the employees of Informational-Consultative Service Center will continue providing farmers with the necessary information to start the business in the future as well.
