The employees of Khelvachauri Informational-Consultative Service Center commence studying the tea plantations
The employees of Khelvachauri Informational-Consultative Service Center visited all the tea plantations in the municipality in order to study and plan methods to restore the plantations. As the specialists have found out there are 800 acres of tea plantation in total, from which 86 acres has been restored already, 327 acres could be rehabilitated and other 387 acre of tea plantation has ran wild.
Agro Service Center Specialist also got acquainted with the works of “Ajarinvest tea” LTD in order to study the processing of tea raw material. Company possesses two micro factories one in Maradidi and another in Khelvachauri. The first factory has been manufacturing up to 2 tons of raw material in a day and has been producing green tea, while the second one has been manufacturing up to 5 tons and has been producing the black tea. Company rent 26 acres of Tea plantation, where approximately 200 people have been employed in the season.
The specialists of Khelvachauri Informational-Consultative Service Center visited the micro factory in Ortabatumi as well, which belongs to Nugzar Surmanidze. His factory received 3 tons of tea raw materials at this season. As Surmanidze stated, he has no enough area to increase the production of tea.
