Agro Service Center celebrates its second birthday
Agro Service Center celebrates its 2-nd birthday at seventh of July. The anniversary was celebrated by the organization with the festive evening. The evening has been opened by the presentation of agricultural products after which the film made about the Agro Service Center’s 2 year career has been shown to the guests.
The newspaper named “Gutneuli” has been released at anniversary which reflects the Agro Service Center’s activities. 1500 copies of newspaper has been made and added to the newspaper “Ajara” 7th July edition. Guests were presented by the newspapers at evening party as well. The official part of evening ended up with the reward ceremony where Fifteen employee of Agro Service Center and UNDP project manager Lasha Komakhidze has been rewarded by the head of “Agro Service Center” Gocha Beridze for their special contribution in “Agro Service Center” functioning.
“Agro Service Center” was established by the Ministry of Agriculture of A.R. Government with the support of Ajara A.R. Government, UNDP and EU in 7th of July, 2011. Development of greenery and cattle-breeding in Ajara region as well as providing farmers with consultations are the main functions of Agro Service Center. Organization owns three nurseries so far: Chaqvi citrus nursery, Gvara-Khutsubani wine and fruit nursery and Akhalsopeli nursery, from which breeding of new seedlings and selling them to farmers in reduced prices is planned in the nearest future, as well as support of fruit drying process owned by the farmers.
In-vitro fertilization service is functioning in Agro Service Center in order to renew the cattle breed. The mentioned the centers of in-vitro fertilization are already opened in municipalities of Ajara since June as well. Informational-Consultative Service Centers of “Agro Service Center” are functioning in above mentioned municipalities and in Batumi as well, where qualified specialists provide farmers with consultations about the important issues.
The representatives of Ajara Government, Supreme council of Ajara, NGO and Media attended the anniversary of Agro Service Center, as well as the directors of local and international organizations, professors from University and vocational collage. The event was also attended by the entrepreneurs, whose productions were exhibited at the party.
