The implementation of Euro agricultural development project the amount of which is 3.3 Million starts in Ajara
Within the frame of agricultural development project the representatives of UNDP and European Union visited “Agro Service Center” today. The head of organization Gocha Beridze introduced ongoing projects and showed the office of cattle artificial insemination to them. The head of Operations EU Delegation to Georgia, Ramon Reigada gave certificates to those employees of “Agro Service Center” who attended training courses about “how to prepare business projects” held by the representative of UNDP. Afterwards delegation visited Citrus nursery in Chakvi and got acquainted with the projects implemented there by the support of UNDP. They also attended the operation process of fruit drying equipment in the nursery.
The head of Operations EU Delegation to Georgia, Ramon Reigada and the representatives of UNDP visited “Agro Service center” within the frame of Project called “ENPARD Ajara support to Agricultural Development”. Project which was signed by the UNDP and Government of Ajara yesterday aims development of agro sector and strengthen the capabilities of small farmers in Ajara region. The three-year initiative will closely work with the Government of Ajara A. R. and the “Agro Service Center” and is funded by European Union and Government of Ajara by 3.3 million euro. The project is implemented in Ajara region by UNDP.
The initiative is the part of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) under which the European Union assists inclusive growth and stability in its Neighbourhood, and promotes agriculture as a foundation for food security, sustainable production and rural employment.
