Europe Day 2015 in Ajara
Agro service Centre in village Gvara, Kobuleti municipality, hosted the celebration of Europe Day 2015. The event was organised by the European Union and UNDP in cooperation with the Government of Ajara Autonomous Republic as part of the Europe Week in Georgia.
H.E. OrtwinHennig, Ambassador of Germany to Georgia; Archil Khabadze, Head of the Ajara Autonomous Republic Government; Kaido Sirel, Head of Operations Section of the European Union Delegation to Georgia; and Shombi Sharp, Deputy Head of UNDP in Georgia, visited the Agriservice Centre to see the implementation of the EU-funded programme ENPARD – the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development, and meet with local residents.
The celebration also saw an agriculture fair organised by the farmers’ cooperatives established with assistance from ENPARD, and an exhibition of agriculture machinery handed over to the successful cooperatives by the European Union and UNDP.
