Workshop regarding to the establishment of farmers’ cooperatives

Coordination meeting was held between the specialists of Informational-Consultative Service Center and the representatives of UNDP. UNDP project manager Lasha Komakhidze introduced the methods of creating farmers’ cooperatives with the specialists of Agro service-center which foresees selection of farmers having good intellectual abilities and wish to develop agribusiness.  

“We will work together and teach farmers how to develop agro business and solve problems they have while working in their field,” Lasha Komakhidze stated.

For the first stage, farm groups consisting of 10-15 members will be selected and the meetings will be held with them in order to identify their constraints and problems. Afterwards farmers having wish to become members of farmers’ cooperatives and work with others for solution of various problems will be selected. At the end, project elaborated by the farmers’ cooperative with the support of UNDP specialists regarding to the agribusiness development or solution of certain problems will be financed by the UNDP.
