Phyto lab of “Vanrik Agro Group” produces seedlings of different varieties by the micro cloning
The employees of Khelvachauri Informational-Consultative Service Center visit laboratory of “Vanrik Agro Group”, which is working on breeding different varieties of blueberries, lackberries, raspberries, kiwifruit and tea by the micro-cloning.
Company owns 65 hectares of blueberry plantations in Guria region Layturi village. Because it is difficult to produce blueberries by grafting company decided to import blueberry seedlings from Belarus, which was expensive. In the consequence of it, “Vanrik Agro Group” commences producing seedlings of blueberries in its own laboratory, which they built in cooperation with laboratory of Belarus. According to the main specialist of Laboratory, Gulnara Verulidze Company plans to produce seedlings of nut-tree, silver fir-tree and paulownia tree in the nearest future.
Blueberry is quite profitable fruit. It is easy to adapt acid soil and gives 10-15 tone of harvest at one hectare territory. Agro Service Center consultants consider tea plantations which are amortized at the present quite suitable for blueberry to plant there.
