Today, garlic cultivation on the land of farmer Bidzina Shavadze was attended by the first Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Ajara Ioseb Abuladze, Director of Agro Service Center Gocha Beridze and Head of Agrarian Committee of Ajara Supreme Court Merab Abashidze. Orange Trees planted on Europe Square

Agro Service Center Orange trees were planted on Europe Square in Batumi. Spanish, Turkish and Japanese orange and grapefruit 18 trees were planted on Era Square on Memed Abashidze Street.Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze, Mayor of Batumi George Ermakov and Chairman of Supreme Council participated in green action with other officials. The Action was initiated by the Supreme Council Member Akaki Dzneladze and organized by the Agro Service Center. Other squares will be also greened in Batumi soon.

Garlic Demonstration plots to be cultivated in Mountainous Ajara

Garlic Demonstration Plots will be cultivated in mountainous Ajara by Agro Service Center. The Farmers will be provided with new, productive and profitable breed of garlic within the frame of “ENPARD Ajara” program. In total, 10 acres of land will be cultivated by garlic in Keda, Shuakhevi and Khulo. The owners of Demonstration Plots have been trained by the representative of garlic producer company from Ukraine regarding to the garlic cultivation and measures against the pests diseases.

Grape harvest in Agro Service Center

Tsolikouri, Klarjula, Tsitska and Krakhuna have been harvested in Agro Service Center today by the Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara, UNDP project representatives, Agro Service Center specialists, as well as by the Students and pupils from Batumi. 1,5 tons of grape have been harvested in two-year-old nursery, where 32 breeds of grapes are cultivated. Grape harvest to begin in Agro Service Center

Grape harvest begins in Agro Service Center Vine and Fruit Nursery, where 32 different breeds of vine are cultivated. Wine grapes such as Tsolikauri, Tsitska, Ojaleshi and Klarjuli are ready to be harvested. Those grape breeds along with the others have been cultivated in the nursery in 2013. During the two year period, grapes which are more adaptable and profitable are examined by the specialists and produced in order to be sold among the farmers.

Monitoring of Cow Artificial Insemination Service results

Deputy Director of Agro Service Center Levan Bolkvadze observed the results of Cow Artificial Insemination Service and visited Family of Givi Danelia in Kobuleti.  Danelia got two cows from Artificial Insemination Service, one of which already has the sign of breed improvement. It gives 13-15 liter of milk instead of 8-10 liter like the mother. Artificial Insemination Service opened in Agro Service Center in 2012 within the frame of UNDP program and 1600 improved breed of calves have been born during this period in Ajara region.
